Flamingoes Descend on Colombia

NIGERIA’S U-17 Women football team, the Flamingoes will swoop on Colombia in today’s fnal Group A match of the ongoing FIFA Women U-17 World Cup in Azerbaijan which is very crucial to both countries.

With four points acrued from their first two matches against Canada and host Azerbaijan, the Nigerians must avoid losing to the South Americans to pick the quarter final ticket.

The Colombians, on the other hand, need an outright victory over the Nigerians to make it through.

Canada, also with four points, looks good to pick one of the tickets as it faces a hapless Azerbaijan who will pose little or no problem for the Canadians to secure the maximum points.

Based on the setting, head coach of the Flamingoes Peter Dedevbo has prepared his wards for an onslaught on the Colombians, saying that the team will go for an outright win to emerge leader of the group.

“We are going for victory in this match. Sharing the points with our opponent is not in our minds, if that would be enough to see us through,” said the coach.
