FG releases N490m for Eagles (Please don’t embezzle it)

The Federal Government has released N490 million to the Super Eagles to participate in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The money, which was released to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), was part of the funds approved for the team to participate in the competition.

Julius Ogunro, the Special Assistant (Media) to Sports Minister Bolaji Abdullahi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the second and final part of the funds would be released in due course.

NFF’s Secretary-General, Musa Amadu, confirmed the receipt of the money.

“The money came into our account today (yesterday) and we will go on to judiciously utilise it,” Amadu said.
