Nigeria beat Kenya in World Cup qualifier

Nigeria’s Super Eagles Wednesday beat hosts Kenya 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier return match in Nairobi.
The eagerly awaited at the Moi International Sports Complex (MISC), in Nairobi, saw the Kenyans stand up to the African champions till the 85th minute when they succumbed to the lone goal.
The cleverly executed goal was scored by Ahmed Musa, who turns out for the Russia side CSKA Moscow.
The Kenyans had secured a sensational 1-1 draw in the round one clash with the Nigerians in Calabar last March.
The result in Nairobi firmly put the Nigerians on course to clinching a place in the World Cup final to be held in Brazil next year.
Namibia, and Malawi are the other countries in the group.
Kenya’s talismanic captain Dennis Oliech and first choice goalkeeper Arnold Origi, missed the encounter due to suspension for accumulated yellow cards.
The local side was captained by Scottish champions Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama
The Nairobi match was attended by a sizeable crowd that included Kenya’s Deputy President William Ruto.
