Court adjourns N178m fraud case against bank manager, husband

By BARTHOLOMEW MADUKWE

LAGOS — Lagos State High Court sitting in Igbosere, yesterday, adjourned till September 26, 2013, the trial of a former Customer Service Manager of a new generation bank, Mrs. Tosin Lawal, and her husband, Mr. Michael Lawal, over alleged N178.9million fraud brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Justice Christopher Balogun had at the last hearing, adjourned for substantive hearing of the case today after listening to the defence and prosecuting counsels.

But this was stalled following the absence of prosecution witness.

At the resumed hearing, the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Ayokunle Fayanju, told the court that he thought the case was adjourned for mention; hence he had no witnesses in court.
