By SaharaReporters, New York

SaharaReporters has learned that John Vidal, a correspondent with The Guardian newspaper in London, has been arrested by overzealous local police men in Eleme, Rivers State.

Sources said he was seized along with his photographer, who was identified simply as Noah.

Both British nationals were said to have been taking pictures of a huge gas flare at the Eleme Refinery in the Eleme Local Government Area in the southwest of the state. They were still being held at the time of this report.
