Jonathan sacks two advisers

President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday relieved two of his Special Advisers of their appointments with immediate effect.

They are, his Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Mrs. Joy Emordi; and that of New Partnership for Africa’s Development, Dr. Tunji Olagunju.

A statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, said Jonathan commended Emordi and Olagunju for their services and wished them success in their future endeavours.

No reason has been given for the sackings. When contacted, Emordi expressed gratitude to the President for an opportunity to serve him and by extension the nation.

She said, “It was an honour and rare privilege to serve Mr. President and my nation in the capacity I served. I am also grateful to God and my family for the support they gave me throughout the period.”

Emordi equally said she would continue to work towards the growth and progress of Nigeria and urged Nigerians to continue to support Mr. President’s transformation agenda.
