2015: Tambuwal in secret meeting with Obasanjo
House, Legislature, Olusegun Obasanjo (1976-79, 99-07), Presidency Wednesday, August 13th, 2014

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, held a secret meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his Hilltop home in Abeokuta, capital of Ogun State, on Tuesday.
Tambuwal, who arrived at the former president’s residence around 5.30pm, left around 6.18pm.
Our correspondent gathered that the visit might not be unconnected with the speaker’s 2015 political ambition.
It is believed that Tambuwal is nursing a presidential ambition.
However, his media aide, Mr. Imam Imam, said Tambuwal and Obasanjo only rubbed minds on the state of the nation and how to move it forward.
He said, “You know Baba is father to all in the country. The visit was a consultation. It is about rubbing minds on how to move the country forward and make Nigeria better.”
Asked whether the visit was in connection with Tambuwal’s rumoured presidential ambition in 2015, Imam said he could not confirm that because it was a closed door meeting between Tambuwal and Obasanjo.
He said, “I can’t say anything on that because it was a closed door meeting. About the presidential ambition, that also I cannot comment on. Let’s wait till 2015 and then we will address that.”
