Ghana frees 27 Nigerian ex-militants

The Federal Government has secured the release of 27 ex-militants who were detained by the Ghanaian government for alleged misconduct.

The 27-ex militants were among 212 persons sent to the National Vocational Training Institute in Ghana for training as welders on January 27, 2011. The Special Adviser to the President on the Niger Delta and Chief Executive Officer of the Amnesty Programme of the Federal Government, Mr. Kingsley Kuku, was quoted in a statement as having warned that the Federal Government would take punish any of them found to be involved in criminal activities.
