Segun Odegbami’s daugh­ter, Yemisi May Odegbami aka May7ven, has said that her boyfriend dumped her because she chose to relocate to Nigeria to pursue her music career.

The Bo Aso La Ra Mi singer, who debuted in 2009 in a chat with TS Weekend, said: “My relocation has not helped my love life and I guess, maintaining a long distance relation­ship might be quite challenging. I was dumped a few months ago by my boyfriend because I decided to relocate back home to pursue my music career. It’s been a very sad experience and he’s saying men don’t follow women and besides, he is not Nigerian; he has a thriving career in the UK.”

So, does that mean she is available?

“No, I am not,” she says with a vigorous shaking of the head adding “I am married to my music for now.”

So what qualities does she look for in a guy?

“Discipline comes first and my man must be able to make me laugh. Noth­ing strikes me more than a neat man. I have dated several ugly guys but what matters most to me is discipline. There is nothing more attractive to me than a disciplined man, a guy dedicated to me and his job.”
