The Lagos Airport Hotel in Ikeja was gutted by fire on Monday with valuables worth millions of naira destroyed.

Combined efforts of the the Lagos State Fire Service and the state’s Emergency Management Agency prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining buildings.
Our correspondent gathered that firefighters from the Alausa station battled the inferno with three trucks of water and was later put out around 6am.
An emergency official, who spoke with PUNCH Metro on condition of anonymity, said operation ended at the hotel around 9am, adding that nobody was injured.
“With quick response from all emergency agencies, we were able to salvage the situation. The fire was relatively much and property with millions of naira was destroyed. But no life was lost and nobody injured,” he added.
