FG to offer free train ride from Lagos to Abuja
Abuja (FCT), Headlines, Lagos, State News Thursday, November 28th, 2019Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has announced that the Federal Government will offer free train ride to Nigerians from Lagos to Abuja for the next three months.
Amaechi made the announcement at the 14th edition of The Future Awards Africa (TFAA), held at The Balmoral Event Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.
According to him, the intention is to introduce the new service to travellers.
He added that he would be joining the train ride on Saturday, November 30, to encourage citizens.
The new development builds on the minister’s promise to complete the Lagos-Ibadan rail line by April 2020.
Amaechi gave the assurance at the end of the project inspection tour onboard the train from Iju to Ibadan at the weekend.
