He was however said to have been revived later at his residence in Enugu where he was immediately taken after the incident which took place at Ogige market, Nsukka.
This came as four persons were reportedly killed by suspected gunmen in a two-pronged robbery attacks in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, Tuesday. The attacks led to a pandemonium at the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) rally, with the crowd scampering for safety and running for dear lives.
The killings in the Borno capital came as the police authorities in the state disclosed that the attempted bombing of the rally where the governor, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, was expected to lead other candidates of the party, was foiled. Also Tuesday, four members of the Boko Haram fundamentalist group were arrested by the police.

THISDAY gathered that Governor Sullivan Chime and his entourage later rushed to Nsukka to participate in the event but before his arrival, most of the participants had left the venue as the governorship candidates of four political parties including Dr. Dan Shere of People for Progressive Change, PDC and Chief Okey Ozea of Labour Party, participated fully in the dialogue.
