Missing Ex-ASUU president, Dipo Fasina, found in Turkey

By Jimisayo OpanugaA former President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Dipo Fasina, popularly known as Jingo, has been found in Turkey after being reported missing at the airport. Fasina was declared missing on Saturday, July 1. This incident was confirmed by the current President of ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke. The 76-year-old was travelling to Algeria when he was said to have missed his connecting flight from Istanbul, Turkey. Days after Prof. Fasina was declared missing. The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) issued a statement on Sunday announcing that he had been found. NiDCOM commended the Nigerian High Commission in Turkey for their collaborative efforts to locate the professor. “A big thanks to the Nigerian Ambassador to Turkey, who immediately sent officials to the Airport to physically locate him in the very busy and huge Istanbul Airport,” NiDCOM said. |
