Osun Police Alert Public on New Robbery Device
Headlines, Nigerian Police, Osun, State News Friday, May 6th, 2011THE Osun State police command has advised residents of the state to be wary of kidnappers and robbers, who have deviced new method of using small children to carry out their nefarious activities.
The command, in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olugbemileke Olumide Taiwo (ASP), said that it has come across some text messages recently in circulation, which were alerting members of the public about a new wave of crime whereby small children holding pieces of paper, and crying by the roadside are being used by criminals.
He said that while the child, who would be holding a piece of paper showing his or her home address would be crying and asking for assistance to be taken home, the criminals would be waiting at the said address to rob and kidnap the unsuspecting ‘good samaritan’.
