Zamfara Gov demotes 10 permsecs, sack board chairmen, others
Governors, Headlines, State News, Zamfara Thursday, June 2nd, 2011The newly sworn-in Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has demoted 10 permanent secretaries and sacked all board chairmen, commissions and parastatals in the state. In a statement issued and signed by the Head of Service Mohammed Bello Umar, the governor disclosed that the affected permanent secretaries were those appointed during the transition period by the immediate past administration in the state.
According to him, those permanent secretaries affected were to reverse to their former ranks with immediate effect.
Among those to reverse to their former ranks are Usman Marafa Nahuce, Bala Umar Tsafe, Adamu Sani Katuru, former press secretary to former governor Mamuda Aliyu Shinkafi, Mr. Sani Mustapha (MD Water Board Gusau) ,Ahmed Yandi (Rural water supply), Abdulsalam Kotorkoshi (MD Farmers Agricultural supply company.
FASCO), Sule Magayaki Moriki, (Livestock and Animal production), Garba Danazumi (Principal in one of the secondary school), Muktar Mainasara Anka and Abdulkadir Alinkilo Anka (former Director pilgrims board) in the state.
Daily Sun recalled that the affected permanent secretaries who are to reverse to their former ranks were approved and appointed by former Governor Mamuda Aliyu Shinkafi few days before handing over to his successor in the state.
In a related development, the new governor has also approved the dissolution of all chairmen of boards and parastatals, which include the state council of chiefs and council of Ulamas in the state. Other commissions that were dissolved also include civil service and Judicial service commissions and all political appointments which consist of Director-General, senior special assistants and special assistants in the state.wp_posts
