Fallout of Ethiopia Draw: Heads will roll – Siasia
Headlines Tuesday, June 7th, 2011SUPER Eagles’ coach, Samson Siasia, says he will shut the door of the national team against big players who failed to give a five-star performance to Nigeria.
Henceforth, Siasia said, he will place premium on attitude before making his selections for future games.
Trailing group two leader, Guinea by three points, the Eagles are in must-wins duels against Madagascar in Antannarivo and Guinea in Abuja.
However, Siasia realises the six points might not be obtainable if some players repeat the attitude they showed in a 2-2 draw against Ethiopia last Sunday.
Siasia explained: “This time around we are going to Madagascar with players who are very positive- minded, those who are ready to do their best for Nigeria irrespective of the situation”.
He regretted that all his pre-match talk that the game against Ethiopia was more important than the friendly game against Argentina held no water as his players did better against the South Americans.
”In Abuja, the boys came out forcefully against Argentina but were somehow relaxed against Ethiopia, they were just lucky to escape defeat,” he added.
