Abuja blasts can’t be linked to Jos attacks
Abuja (FCT), Latest Politics, Oyo, State News Tuesday, January 4th, 2011Minister of Interior, Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho (retd.), on Sunday said it was too early to link the bomb blasts at the mammy market beside Mogadishu Military Barracks to the Christmas Eve explosions in Jos, Plateau State.
He stated that investigators were still collating evidence and working hard to apprehend the perpetrators, noting that it would be hasty to draw such a conclusion when investigation was at the preliminary stage.
Iheanacho, who spoke with newsmen after inspecting the scene of the blasts, vowed that security agents would arrest the masterminds of the blasts.
The minister said the incident was politically-motivated, stressing that the challenge before the government was the ‘unwillingness of people to play by the rules.’
“Government will fish out the perpetrators of this blast. People can have little political differences but it is not enough to cause havoc; nobody can stampede government,” Iheanacho vowed.
He later visited victims of the blasts at Asokoro District Hospital and the National Hospital where he wished them speedy recovery.
