ACN sweeps Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Ekiti, Osun Polls – Chime carries Enugu

landslide victory with Gov. Babatunde Fashola polling about 85% of the votes
cast in yesterday’s election.
The big win of the day for the ACN comes from Ogun state, while it looks set to
clinch the Oyo state governorship poll where the party is holding a slight lead.
In the State Assembly election, the party also won all the seats in the Lagos
House of Assembly, and 24 of the 26 seats in Ekiti Assembly.
In osun, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mr Rufus Akeju
declared that ACN won all the 26 seats of the state House of Assembly. He said
eleven political parties participated in the election while 157 candidates contested
the 26 seats in the state Assembly.
In Enugu, South-East Nigeria, Gov. Sullivan Chime of the People’s Democratic
Party, PDP has been declared winner of the governorship polls. The Labour Party
candidate, Okey Ezea came second while the Peoples for Democratic Change,
PDC came distant third.
