President Goodluck Jonathan, at the weekend, met with embattled Governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura, during which he told the governor that he had no hand in his current travails.
Impeachment move has been instituted against Al-Makura by members of the State House of Assembly.
A top government source, who confirmed the meeting, said the impeachment threat was the main focus of discussion.
The source said: “The meeting was a cordial one. Yes, the issue of the impeachment process was raised and the President made it clear to the governor that he had no hand in his travails.”
