Aluu killing: Police dismiss Sergeant (Just dismissing?)
Headlines, Rivers, State News Friday, October 19th, 2012The Nigerian Police Force have dismissed a Sergeant identified as Lucky Orji, who was allegedly involved in the gruesome murder of the students, following the confessions of one of the arrested suspects who claimed that a police man was part of the mob.
The sergeant was dismissed for ordering the mob to kill the suspected students.
Mr. Frank Mba, the force Public Relations officer while speaking Wednesday on Channels TV, named the dismissed Sergeant as Lucky Orji. He stated that the Nigerian Police Force has carried out their investigations and dismissed the ‘named’ sergeant.
The dismissed police officer and another officer were alleged to have stumbled upon the angry mob beating the students, Mba said. According to him, “The officers were not even sent to the scene, he went on his own, outside the code of conduct and professional ethics of the job. One was professional to ask the mob to stop and the other asked them to continue.” wp_posts
