A military source later claimed General Minimah was conducted around the town of Baga and other places during his unscheduled visit, he was shown round Baga by the General Officer Commanding the 7th Division of the army .
Mininah told newsmen, “My visit to Baga is to see our troops who are doing great jobs there. It is a confidence and morale-boosting visit that will end the Boko Haram fight within the six-week timeline of war against terrorists and their activities in the northeast sub-region of Nigeria.”
“From Baga, we will move to retake Gwoza, Marte and Madagali,” he said, exuding confidence that the end of the six-year insurgency may have come. “With this, there is going to be no more Boko Haram; the slogan is ‘never again’ and even the President shares in this slogan.”

General Minimah also did not say anything about the casualties on both sides.
