Criminal investigation commence against FIFA president, Gianni Infantino

(NNP) Swiss authorities have instituted a criminal case against FIFA president, Gianni Infantino. The Swiss special prosecutor Stefan Keller, concluded that there is sufficient evidence to charge the case to court after he had a chance to review the meeting FIFA president had with the Swiss attorney-General Michael Lauder. While the prosecution was not clear on the charges, it is believed that the prosecutor had uncovered what he described as “elements of reprehensive behavior” on the part of Infantino.
Ironically, Infantino was elected on an anti-corruption platform to clean the image of the organization after Sepp Blatter, the long-time president, was marred in corruption. Both FIFA and Infantino have pledged to cooerpate with the Swiss investigation.
