Delta:Ballot thieves cause panic in Udu, Isoko
Delta, Elections 2011, State News Tuesday, April 26th, 2011HERE was sporadic shooting for several hours by armed men who snatched ballot boxes and papers at Ekete area of Udu local government and Owhe in Isoko North local government area of Delta state in their bid to rig the polls.
At Ekete in Udu area, some thugs were said to have hijacked election materials meant for the polling units were taken to the town hall.
Delta State INEC boss, Dr. Gabriel Ada descried the development as strange, saying he would invite the military to go in and frontally address the situation.
In the case of Owhe in Isoko North local government area, the voters were said to have refused the commencement of the exercise because the ballot boxes that were brought by INEC was not enough, but armed men came shooting and voters ran for their dear lives.
