EFCC appoints key officers

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, has announced the appointment of key officers of the commission.
In a press statement released on Saturday, Lamorde said the new appointments were part of the move to reposition the commission.
The statement signed by the commission’s Acting Head, Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, noted that the most prominent of the new appointments was the emergence of Mr. Olaolu Adegbite, a Chief Superintendent of Police, as the new Director of Operations.
Other notable appointments included those of the former Head of the Economic Governance Unit, Mr. Mohammed Wakili, as the Head of the newly created Internal Affairs Department, which is expected to drive the internal cleansing process aimed at erasing the integrity deficit in the commission.
Also, former Head of the Special Control Unit against Money Laundering, Mr. Ayo Olowonihi, becomes the Commandant of the EFCC Academy; former Deputy Director, Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, Mr. Bala Sanga, moves to the Legal Unit of the EFCC Academy, while former Director of the EFCC Academy, Dr. David Tukura, becomes Director, Planning, Policy and Statistics in the newly created Directorate of Planning, Policy and Statistics.
Former Assistant Director and pioneer Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Osita Nwajah, is now Acting Deputy Director, Media and Public Affairs
