EFCC summons principal officers of Lagos Assembly
EFCC Politics, Lagos, State News Wednesday, September 7th, 2011The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has summoned five principal officers of the Lagos State House of Assembly to appear before it today.
Daily Sun reliably gathered from a dependable source that the officers, including the permanent secretaryt/clerk of the House will appear today to answer questions regarding the financial transactions of the House especially from the Sixth Assembly till date.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Ikuforji Adeyemi, had appeared before the operatives last week after an allegation of embezzling N7 billion was levelled against him. His travel passports were seized by the operatives who later raided the accounts department of the Assembly, taking with them some documents containing financial transactions.
The principal officers of the House that might be affected include the Speaker, Ikuforiji Adeyemi, Deputy Speaker, Kolawole Taiwo, Majority Leader, Adeyeye Ajibayo and Chief Whip, Razak Balogun. Daily Sun gathered that they are expected to appear at the office of the commission by 9am today.
