Enyeama declares war on Harambee Stars
Headlines, Uncategorized Saturday, March 23rd, 2013Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama says the Super Eagles have put last month’s Africa Cup of Nations victory behind them and are ready to slog for World Cup qualification.
Nigeria face Kenya on Saturday in a 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier, and the stand-in captain says the squad are focused in that game
“For us the Afcon is like something that has gone. You can’t take one victory and put it in another place,” Enyeama says.
“We are now faced with a different challenge, something that is very appetising for us.
“As professionals, we are motivated already for the game. We are just going to have to talk more to each other, work harder, run harder than we did at Afcon and hope that the work that we put in is rewarded with three points on Saturday.
“We are not facing Kenya as champions of Africa, but as Nigeria trying to qualify for the World Cup.”
Nigeria currently top the group standings with four points from two games and could pull away altogether with victory on Saturday.wp_posts
