Falconets thrash Cameroon in Under-20 Women World Cup qualifier

Nigeria’s under-20 women football team, the Falconets have thrashed their Cameroon counterpart 3-0 in the FIFA Under-20 Women World Cup qualifier. The match was played at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Saturday. The first leg in Cameroon had produced no goal. The Falconets have now advanced to the fifth and final round of African Qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup. Esther Onyenezide scored in the 20th minute to put the Falconets in front while Precious Vincent doubled their advantage in the 37th minute. Onyenezide scored her second of the game in the 72nd minute to seal a 3-0 victory for the Falconets. The Nigerian side will now play the winner between Senegal and Morocco for a place at the world cup in Costa Rica in August. |
