Gov Alex Otti presents 24 made-in-Abia vehicles to State House of Assembly members

By Daniel ChibuikeAbia State governor, Dr Alex Otti, has presented 24 Roxettes Utility Pick-Up vans to the 24 members of the Abia State House of Assembly to aid their oversight functions. Governor Otti presented the vans’ keys to Speaker of the House Emmanuel Emeruwa. He said the gesture fulfilled his promise to the members to equip them with operational vehicles. The Governor noted that the vans were locally produced in Abia and said he has a policy of patronising indigenous manufacturers to improve their quality. He disclosed that the manufacturer, an indigene of the state from Umunneochi LGA, is nearing completion of his factory in Obuaku, Ukwa West LGA, as the road leading to it is nearing completion. Governor Otti said that his administration is committed to enhancing the quality of indigenous products to encourage local production and patronage, adding that efforts are in top gear to instil confidence in indigenous manufacturers regarding their products. Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Augustine Meregini, thanked the governor for providing the second set of vehicles to the lawmakers.
