LEADER, Delta Elders, Leaders and Stakeholders Forum, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, yesterday disclosed that report making the rounds that former Delta State Governor, James Onanefe Ibori, had been set free were a ruse and absolutely baseless.
Clark, who spoke with The Guardian, said the story making the rounds that Ibori had been set free were the handiwork of President Goodluck Jonathan’s political enemies who chose the eve of the national elections to spread the rumour in order to discredit the President.
Clark said he had been made to understand at the Presidency that the President did not facilitate Ibori’s release.
“There is no iota of truth in the rumours claiming that Ibori had been released. It is the handiwork of Jonathan’s political enemies,”
Clark said.
