Jigawa establishes seven Sharia Courts -Registrar (When will it establish schools?)

The Jigawa State Government said on Thursday it had established seven additional Sharia courts to improve the administration of justice in the state.
The Chief Registrar of the Sharia Court of Appeal, Bala Musa, told newsmen in Dutse that the courts were established in 2012.
Mr. Musa said the action was designed to increase the number of courts and enhance access to justice in rural communities.
He said that the state government had also executed various development projects aimed at transforming the courts.
“Our main concern this year is to alleviate the burden of the common man. The burden that involves coming to court to file his case.
“Jigawa is a very wide state and we have people spread across the nook and crannies of the state and by bringing the court closer to them you are alleviating the burden of having to travel over long distances. Our proposal for this year is construct five sharia courts,” he said.
Mr. Musa said that the request for the establishment of five additional courts was captured in the proposed 2013 appropriation bill.
“We are hoping that the request will be granted to enable us establish more courts,” he said.
