Jonathan names Chidoka Aviation Minister •Suleiman bags National Planning post •Oyeyemi is new FRSC Corps Marshal
Aviation, Headlines Thursday, July 24th, 2014FORMER Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Osita Chidoka, from Anambra State, has been appointed the new Minister of Aviation.
He was sworn into office by President Goodluck Jonathan, shortly before the commencement of the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the State House, Abuja.
Chidoka replaces Stella Oduah, who resigned from the position on February 12, following controversy over the purchase of N255 million armoured cars by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Also sworn in was Abubakar Suleiman from Kwara State, who has been named the Minister of National Planning and deputy chairman, National Planning Commission (NPC).
The president admonished the new appointees to bring their wealth of experience to bear on their new responsibilities.
He also announced the appointment of Boboye Oyeyemi as the new FRSC Corps Marshal.
Until the appointment, Oyeyemi was the Deputy Corps Marshal of the FRSC.Jonathan explained that Oyeyemi’s appointment was imperative to ensure stability within the commission.
