Keshi yet to sign contract
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and out of contract former Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has finally agreed to a new deal that would see the “Big Boss” return to the team.
NFF President, Mr Pinnick Amaju who confirmed Keshi’s imminent return as Eagles manager, however, told supersports that Keshi was yet to sign the contract.
“Keshi’s contract has been approved by the NFF board, I can confirm that to Nigerians. All that is left now is for him (Keshi) to sign it. As we speak, Keshi has not put pen to paper,” Amaju told Supersports just before the commencement of the second half of the Nigeria, Uganda friendly.
Amaju said the NFF board was working hard to build a new Super Eagles that Nigerians would be proud of, even as he assured that a solid foundation was being laid for Nigerian football.
He said Nigerian football will go places given the kind of good support the game is getting from the nation’s number one citizen, President Goodluck Jonathan.
It would be noted that Keshi is returning to the Eagles after making several failed attempts at getting a job outside the nations shores. Keshi who after the Brazil 2014 mundial claimed that he had offers from over 10 countries lost out of the race for the job of Ghana, South Africa, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Angola and Burkina Faso.
