Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano state

Kano State Governor , Dr. Rabiu  Kwankwaso has said his administration will continue appointing credible people into cabinet position so as to provide purposeful and responsible decision towards the development of the state.

Speaking at the weekend, shortly after the swearing-in ceremony of the commissioners held at the Government House, Kano, Kwankwaso said none of the appointees lobbied for the positions, hence they were chosen on merit.

The governor therefore called on them to work assiduously with the fear of God, assured that due process would be adhered to in making upcoming appointments into the government so that credible people would man key public positions.

He also cautioned that his administration would not condone stealing or misappropriation of public funds in whatever form, stressing that all political appointees in the government must buckle up for the challenges ahead.

The governor used the opportunity to appeal to family members and political associates of public officials to counsel them on the enormity of the trust and the need to perform creditably to justify the mandate given to them.

Thirteen members of the state executive council have been sworn-in. They are the state deputy governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who also mans the Ministry for Local government; Dr. Umar Faruk Jibril, Commissioner of Information, Sports and Youth Development; Barrister Maliki Kuliya Umar, Commissioner of Justice and Muhammad Yahaya Nadu, Commissioner of Land and Physical Planning.
