Vanguard learnt that the incident took place last week, when it was gathered that Pa. Everett, who doubles as the community Treasurer, was in possession of large sums of money meant for the community.
His abduction was also said to be linked to the fact that all his children are overseas and doing well.
Sources told Vanguard that when Pa.Everett told his abductors that he does not have such money despite his children being abroad, who now ordered him to pay the ransom from the community fund in his custody. The source added that Pa Everett told them that the money was in the bank and that he was not the only signatory to the account.
