Man pushed out of moving vehicle, crushed to death by another
Abia, Headlines, State News Monday, August 18th, 2014A man in his early 20’s yesterday met his untimely death in Aba, Abia state, when he was pushed down from a moving commercial bus, and eventually crushed by another commercial bus that was coming from behind.
Sunday Sun learnt that the young man whose identity could not be immediately ascertained had boarded the commercial bus that was heading towards the Aba main motor park.
It was also gathered that the men in the commercial bus attempted to dispossess him of his belongings inside the bus.
But the young man was said to have resisted the hoodlums, and the driver of the bus veered off Asa road in the melee into Azikiwe Road where they opened the door of their vehicle and pushed the young man out of the moving bus.
To make matters worse for the young man, a commercial bus said to be coming from behind from the Ariaria market axis crushed him and killed him instantly.
An eye witness said, “The commercial bus veered into Azikiwe Road from Asa Road on high speed, and before anybody knew what was happening, some men inside the bus pushed the young man out from the bus and sped off.
“Before people around could rush to give him a helping hand, another commercial bus coming from Ariaria market crushed him, and he died instantly.”
When Sunday Sun visited the scene of the incident, the corpse of the young man was still lying in the middle of the road as plain clothe police men who arrived the place were trying some numbers they found on his mobile phone to contact his relations.
