May 14th: A Prayer for Leah Sharibu on her 17th Birthday
(NNP) Christians around the world are urged to say a prayer for young Christian girl, Leah Sharibu, who was kidnapped by the terrorist group Boko Haram in February 2018. Leah celebrates her 17th birthday on May 14th in captivity. She was kidnapped along with 109 other girls. In the weeks that followed, five died while 104 were released. Leah remains in captivity on account of her faith and her refusal to deny Jesus and convert to Islam as a condition for her release.
Young Leah has been the face of resilience and faithfulness to God. Her resolve as a young teenage Christian girl strengthens all believers to remain faithful to the Lord no matter the circumstances. On 14th May, her birthday, all Christians are urged to hold her up in prayer for the Lord to protect her like Daniel in the den of lions and show His supremacy over all forces of darkness. Pray for her safe release to her family and pray for the Lord to protect and comfort her. Please share this post to all Christians on your contact list. There is power in prayer!
