Money Laundering: Gov Lamido’s son released on bail

KANO —THE eldest son of the Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, Aminu Sule, who was arrested, Wednesday, at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport Kano (MAKIA) for failure to disclose $40,000 at the airport on his way to Egypt regained freedom from the protective custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission after he was granted “administrative bail.”
Spokesperson of the anti graft agency, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, told Vanguard on phone that charges had already been prepared against the suspect, adding that the embattled son of the governor would be charged to court at a later date.

Vanguard gathered in Kano that the EFCC could not arraign Aminu Sule as there was no judge of the Federal High Court in Kano to take his plea as most of the judges are currently attending ongoing Judges conference in Abuja.
In the meantime, Governor Lamido rose in defence of his eldest son, saying the embattled son was on health mission to Egypt.
Governor Sule Lamido in a four paragraph statement entitled “EFCC, My son and Money laundering” described attempt by the anti graft agency to link him with the offence as “mischievous.”
