Headlines, NDLEA (Anti-Drug Agency) Sunday, January 29th, 2012By Daniel Eteghe
Operatives of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, yesterday, arrested a 26 years old drug trafficker over unlawful exportation of 1.800 kilogrammes of methamphetamine worth over N5million at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The suspect, Mr. Nzeka Christian, who claimed that his pastor prayed for him to have a successful trip to Malaysia, was apprehended by the anti-narcotic agents, during the outward screening of passengers of an Egypt Air flight, weekend.
NDLEA Airport Commander, Mr. Hamza Umar, who spoke on the arrest, noted that the suspect concealed the drugs in two big tomato puree, and other food items, stressing that the food items were meant to distract the anti-narcotic officers from the tomato pastes.
He said: “The suspect is currently being interrogated. The two big tins of tomato puree with 1.8kg of methamphetamine were in Nzeka’s bag containing clothes and foodstuff like yams, rice, beans, garri and spaghetti. The food items were meant to distract officers from the tomato pastes.”
