Elections 2011, NNP Elections 2011 Updates, Oyo, State News Tuesday, April 26th, 2011The Oyo State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Ayo Adakeja, yesterday in Ibadan expressed his regret for accepting to server in the state, this was even as he and other chieftains of security agencies warned trouble makers plotting to cause crisis in today’s elections to steer clear or face the full wrath of the law. Mr. Adakeja made this known while answering questions from political stake holders who were invited for a meeting aimed at conducting a free, fair and credible election in the state.
The REC said that he was excited by the encomium poured on INEC and security agencies on the peaceful conduct of the NASS and Presidential elections but regretted the disturbing messages being sent to him on today’s elections.
According to him, some politicians alleged that he had made up his mind to announce a particular candidate as the winner of the Governorship election because of the money which the candidate had given him.
Adakeja wondered why the people who praised him and the commission including the security agencies ,dramatically turned round to accuse him and others of being bribed for an election which had not taken place ,and added that such a black mail was unfair and ungodly to INEC and other stake holders in the election.
