Passengers stranded at Lagos Airport
Headlines Saturday, January 22nd, 2011Among the airlines affected were Aero, Air Nigeria, DANA, Chanchangi and IRS.
Trouble started when officials of FAAN stormed the domestic terminals of the airport to prevent the airlines from operating their flights, a situation that made many passengers, who had reported at the airport to catch early morning flights, to become stranded.
They were left stranded at the airport terminal for several hours with passengers including young and aged ones sitting on the floor of the terminal awaiting the next line of action from the workers of the affected airlines.
When Sunday Tribune visited the local terminal, especially the MMA2 terminal, many stranded passengers had taken over all the eatery spots located at the airport due to lack of seats at the terminal building.
