Rivers rerun: Heavy security as INEC set to announce results (Is it war?)
Election 2015, Elections, Headlines, Rivers, State News Sunday, March 20th, 2016PORT HARCOURT – Security was, Sunday evening, beefed to the teeth at the of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as the commission collation to announced the official results of the Saturday’s Federal and State legislative elections. INEC on Saturday conducted a rerun elections of the National and state house of Assembly seats that were annulled by the Appeal Court last year. The commission said it would on Monday give the official result of the election. The keenly contested elections which held across the three senatorial districts of the state was allegedly affected by reported violence and killings in almost all the LGAs of the state. No fewer than seven persons lost their lives yesterday. And several case of other irregularities were recorded. Based on these the commission which has vowed to conduct an unbiased rerun elections cancelled the process in six LGAs, Saturday.
