Sambo pays homage to Sanusi

Almost four months after former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was installed as the Emir of Kano, Vice president, Namadi Sambo yesterday paid homage to the new emir of Kano, in his palace.
The delayed public recognition by the number two citizen was however made possible by the death of an influential Kano prince and Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Tijjani Hashim.
Sambo arrived Kano as head of Federal Government’s delegation to witness the funeral prayers of his late godfather. Shortly after the burial, Sambo paid a condolence visit to the Emir, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II, in accordance with tradition.
Security agents took over Kano palace last June shortly Kwankwaso announced Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the emir forcing him to operate from Government House Kano for one week.
Sanus later visited Aso Rock as part of the delegation of Northern traditional rulers led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, who paid sallah visit to the President Jonathan
Sambo while in the palace registered his condolence on behalf of the federal government and prayed for the repose of the deceased traditional ruler.
The Vice president however failed to display similar gesture to his host, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso who was seen with the number two man during and after the funeral prayers.
