Taraba govt to sack workers with fake certificates
State News, Taraba Tuesday, September 27th, 2011The Taraba State government has concluded plans to sack any civil servant found working with forged certificates in the state.
It further warned that it would no longer be business as usual, as dismissal now awaited any- one found in the act of indiscipline.
The state Head of Service, Mr Augustine Bazing, who handed down the warning during a meeting held with staff officers and confidential secretaries in Jalingo, on Monday, said the government would no longer condone such acts from civil servants in the state.
According to him, the government was dissatisfied and disappointed at the manner at which civil servants in the state had turned certificates forgers to gain employment/promotion and said the trend must be stopped.
On promotion, the state head of service disclosed that civil servants would now be promoted based on their performances, adding that those with fake certificates would have their promotions reversed, in order to reduce the government’s salary bills.
The Permanent Secretary, Office of Establishment, Mr Christopher Adamu, who was visibly shocked over the activities of some civil servants, however, called for a rethink of attitude and urged them to update their knowledge with viable ventures.
