Terrorists open fire on worshippers in Ondo church, many put the death toll at about at 50

Many people have been killed as suspected terrorists opened fire on worshippers at St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in Owo area of Ondo State, Southwest Nigeria.
The terrorists, suspected to be bandits stormed the church during mass service on Sunday morning.
Sources said the terrorists sprayed worshippers with bullets on entering the church, leading to the death of many.
Gory videos online showed many people dead.
Many have put the death toll at about at 50.
It was gathered that the injured and the dead were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Owo, for medical attention.
Asides the Federal Medical Centre, many injured people were also said to have been taken to private hospitals for treatment.
Ondo State Police Command spokesperson, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed the attack, but could not give details.
Owo is the hometown of the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
