Those fighting me are fighting God —Okorocha •Tells opposition to stay clear of Imo

IGovernor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has declared that whoever fights him and his administration is actually fighting God.

“I believe that the mandate given to me by Imo people is divine and God will help me accomplish it. Those fighting Rochas and this government are fighting God,” he declared while reacting to the Supreme Court of yesterday resting all litigations against his election victory in 2011.

The judgment was given in the appeal brought before it by Governor Okorocha against the decision of the Appeal Court in Owerri allowing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2011 governorship election, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, to join in the suit brought by the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) governorship candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, on the constitutionality of the May 6, 2011 supplementary election in Imo State.

Okorocha expressed hope that the judgment has brought an end to the court cases distracting his government, maintaining that this is a signal for the opposition to stay clear of Imo.

He further said that the justice that prevailed is an assurance that the people’s mandate will be protected in 2015 as, according to him, ‘if they (opposition) had thwarted the victory, the masses would have been discouraged in the next elections; so to God be the glory.”
