Toronto-based Nigerian man dies while trying to smuggle drugs into Canada
Africa & World Politics, Headlines Friday, October 19th, 2012According to 96.1 WEFM,A Nigerian man dies after several pellets of cocaine burst in his stomach while he was on a Caribbean Airlines flight to Canada.
Sampson Omoghan fell ill on the Wednesday flight, forcing it to return to Piarco Airport so that he could be taken to Arima hospital, where he died.
An autopsy revealed that he had swallowed 250 cocaine pellets at an estimated street value of more than $1MillionTT($152,000USD)
Detectives have since interviewed Omoghan’s wife, who was staying at a hotel near Piarco.
