Yobe Governor loses wife
Headlines, State News, Women Politics, Yobe Tuesday, October 25th, 2011Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State has lost his youngest wife, Hajiya Zainab to the cold hand of death yesterday morning. She was said to have died at the National Hospital Abuja from a protracted illness, which treatment was actually started in Egypt but she was brought back to the country in the wake of the political crisis in Egypt.
The governor left the state early in the morning for Abuja where prayers would be offered for her at the National Mosque before her burial in Abuja.
However, no official of the government has spoken about the sad event. Mats were already being laid at the Mosque in the Government House, Damaturu as at the time of filing this report.
A condolence register has also been opened and other arrangements for the burial rites have been aired through the state radio, Yobe Broadcasting Corporation (YBC). The cause and nature of her illness and her age were not known as at press time.
