ANY state that airlifts pregnant women, overage, underage pilgrims and absconders for hajj will be severely sanctioned by the Saudi Arabian authority.

Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Muslims’ Pilgrims Welfare Board, Fatimah Abolore Jimoh, revealed this at a parley with the state’s local council hajj coordinators towards the successful operation of the 2011 Hajj’s exercise.

Jimoh explained that the Saudi Arabian authority has ruled that for every one absconder in any state, 10 seats will be deducted from the allotted slots of such state. Also, no pregnant or over-age pilgrim will be tolerated during pilgrimage.

She said preparation for this year’s Hajj and Umrah are in top gear, promising that the welfare of the pilgrims would be improved upon to ensure a hitch-free exercise.

Jimoh solicited the support and cooperation of the local council Hajj coordinators so as to achieve the desired objectives before, during and after the Hajj and Umrah operations.
