22 persons killed in Kaduna Gun Attack -Police
Headlines, Kaduna, State News Monday, October 15th, 2012The Police in Kaduna have confirmed the killing of 22 persons
following attack by a notorious gang on Dogon-Dawa village in
Kaduna State, North-Central Nigeria.
The state Commissioner of Police Olufemi Adenaike who confirmed
the incident, disclosed that gunmen suspected to be armed bandits
attacked their victims who were returning from the mosque after
early morning prayers.
He added that at Kuyello area of the state, Police arrested four
persons suspected to be members of a notorious gang terrorising
the area and took them down to Dogon-Dawa village for
questioning, a development that sparked off the gang’s killing spree.
Adenaike explained further that following the arrest, some
unidentified armed gang in Kuyello village mobilised in their large
numbers and stormed the Dogon-Dawa village at early hours of
Sunday in a bid to rescue the four persons arrested.
He said that the gang attacked innocent members of the village and
killed 22 persons, while they rescued two out of the four members of
the gang.
The police boss added that police and other security agencies have
launched manhunt for the suspected armed gangs and that
investigation on the incident has commenced.
