30-yr-old murdered with 7-month pregnancy
Headlines Wednesday, August 17th, 2011BENIN—A 30-year-old woman, Mrs. Julie Ngozi Oshodin, who was seven months pregnant, was reportedly killed, weekend, at her residence in Utteh Quarters, Benin City, by unidentified assailants.
Eyewitnesses said that immediately the killer gang arrived the apartment, a familiar voice called on late Ngozi to open the door, saying that he was on a visit.
On hearing the voice, the deceased reportedly opened the door only to be held by the assailants numbering about seven, and killed.
It was also gathered that the deceased’s husband, Omorogieva, was arrested about three months ago and had since been remanded in Police custody following an alleged robbery incident which took place the night before his arrest. Omorogieva was said to have been arrested on his way to work.
The deceased’s father, Elder Anakure Igweadiani, who arrived Benin City from his home town, Umueri in Anambra East Local Government Area, Anambra State, immediately the news of the murder of his daughter reached him, lamented that his hope of being a grandfather had been dashed.
He appealed to security agents to bring the perpetrators to book
